Kevote AA - Embu, Kenya
In Kenya's coffee grading system, "AA" is the most prized letter grade, designating a large bean size and often the tastiest coffees.
This lot's clean and sweet fruit notes (especially blackberry!) are exactly what we look for in a Kenya!
The Kevote factory opened in 1957, started by a group of just 100 farmers on the southern slopes of Mount Kenya where some of the best coffees in Kenya are grown. Now the Kirurumwe Farmers Cooperative Society operates three wet mills—Kevote, Kianjuki, and Ngaindethia—and the membership has grown to 4500 farmers.
